One of my favorite things to hear from other beauty product hoarders is what they regret purchasing. I love watching disappointing product reviews on YouTube and reading others honest opinions. When you love trying new products you occasionally buy some products that are less than superb. With that being said I thought I would share some products I have tried or purchased lately that I am not loving.. I might save yall some money.
First off I should probably admit that I have a real problem with finding a mascara I like. I try them all and always go back to drugstore mascara.
Too Faced Better Than Sex.. I may be the only person in the world that doesn't love this mascara but I don't. I actually hate it. I hate a gooey elastic feeling mascara. I hate to use the word 'gooey' but that is really the only way I know how to describe it. It makes my lashes feel weird. It doesn't come off at the end of the day. It just didn't do much for me. I am not a huge fan of the packaging either. Definitely not worth the hype or the $23.
When it comes to bronzers I have been trying hard to find a drugstore one that works for me. Milani is a brand I am loving. It is affordable and excellent quality. Everyone raves about their baked blushes (myself included) so I decided to give this a try. This one is my fault though. As soon as I looked at the product closer when I got it home I realized it had gold glitter throughout it.... Ugh. I hate that. I tried it anyways and have since then. Every time I still hate the glitter. I like a sheen, don't get me wrong, but I hate a visible glitter. If glitter is for you- then you'll love it.
I love Benefit. Benefit was the first high end make up brand I became hooked on. Even though I stick to drugstore mascara for the most part these days, They're Real was my first high end mascara addiction. It is still my favorite. When Benefit came out with this product I couldn't wait to try it. Though I can't say I hate this mascara it just isn't worth the price. It doesn't clump and looks fairly natural. However, it isn't the slightest bit voluminous and I always feel the need to use another mascara on top of it.
I have raved about the Loreal Lumi foundation a few times this summer. I also picked up this concealer/highlighter as well. Unlike the foundation this product was a dud for me. I just don't love it. There really isn't anything special here. It isn't full coverage, isn't that luminous. After applying I always go back in with another product. Again this isn't something I hate but I will not repurchase.
It was hate at first use with this product. Quiet possibly the worst mascara I have ever used. It was not even visible on my lashes. I received it in a boxycharm so that makes it a little less painful. This product retails for around thirty dollars. Total rip off. The packaging is cool though, if that counts for anything.
I received a free sample of this Urban Decay High Voltage gloss from Sephora. Despite the fact that I can't ever see myself wearing this color this was the worlds stickiest gloss. I am picky with glosses. I prefer a lipstick- always. However I am always looking to branch out. This is not a product I would ever use again.
Another mascara fail. I bet y'all are wondering why I don't stick to what works. This mascara came in a Walmart beauty box I got a few months ago. It is a lengthening mascara that did not really do anything for me.
I have came to the conclusion that I am not a cream highlighter fan. This product came in a Boxycharm and it was very underwhelming. Upon swatching it I was impresed until I put it on my face. It magnified every pore with glitter basically. I tried mixing it with a primer and that worked a little better. I haven't reached for it since.
I try to like tinted moisturizers. I really really do. I have not succeeded yet though. Luckily this product was cheap so it didn't sting as bad that I hated it. It has sunscreen and aloe? So maybe I could try it at the beach.
I hope this helps y'all decide if these products would be something you would want to try!
